Sarvodaya is spread over an area of 10 acres which was founded in 1971 in view of providing higher education for the students of this extreme backward area. Currently, Sarvodaya is a well-established government-aided non-government college.
It is one of the affiliated units of Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur and under the administrative area of Ghosi in Mau, Uttar Pradesh. It is situated on the main road (NH 29) in the heart of the city, and a police station, two post offices, a railway station, and a government bus stand is less than 2.5 kilometers of its range.
Now, this college has a wide reputation for its quality education, fair examination, and value-based evaluation and we offer a wide range of Graduation and Post-Graduation level courses in the Faculty of Arts. Our campus is fully free from corruption. All modern facilities are available in our college and classrooms are set with the latest teaching aids.
This college is also a research center in various disciplines. Sarvodaya is not just an educational institution, it is a commitment, a commitment towards building a new generation of smart, talented and capable individuals, the custodians of the future – Sarvodaya is not only its name but also its concept which means ‘improvement of a community as a whole’ – and we attempt hard to fulfill our motive.
We have a permanent dedicated team of 21 faculty members and 18 non-teaching staff who are sincere, punctual and dutiful. We have a three-member proctorial board that maintains discipline on the campus.
We understand our responsibilities and ever try to fulfill the needs of our students and the demand of the time. We are environment lovers and we have an additional campus spread over an area of 12 acres which is covered with trees and plants. We are also agriculture lovers, and different seasonal crops are produced in 8 acres of fertile land which is scattered in different parts of our locality.
We believe in values and virtues and we care for a bright career of our students as we can. We also nurture their moral values to make them good citizens and we encourage them to follow and promote ‘वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्’. We also follow, promote and strengthen the thoughts and philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi and Vinoba Bhave in each and every activity of our college.
We also hold competitions at the college level to enhance the maximum chances for our students to compete with the students of other universities and colleges. Students with good performances are awarded by the college. We have the units of ‘National Service Scheme’ and ‘Rower-Rangers’ along with a separate department of ‘Physical Education’.
We encourage our students to develop their personality and feel their responsibility to man, society, country and the world through all these extra-curricular activities of the college. We have a very big library which is full of useful books. We have also study rooms for boys and girls separately. We have a special common room for girls decorated with the facility of sanitation.
Sarvodaya is small but a very important grove of education which has produced several flowers made of bone, blood, and flesh who are providing their services in different fields of the country and across the globe and will continue doing so.
